Cudos to Christian our server. We felt very welcomed and received great service. He gave great recommendations for food and drinks. Portions were very generous. Food came fast and was very good. I have ordered a medium rare steak and received just that. The ambiance of the place is great and so is the decor. It's definitely a place to visit. I highly recommend it. Sitting inside and outdoors is available. We found it after arriving at the local hotel late, and this place was still open. I'm glad we did.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic dining experience at Roost during South Carolina Restaurant Week! The pre-fixe menu offered a great selection, and everything we tried was delicious. We started with the truffle fries and artichoke toast, which were both flavorful and perfectly prepared. For our main course, we each had the filet topped with pimento cheese, and it was cooked to perfection—so tender and full of flavor. The sides were equally impressive. For dessert, we shared the chocolate cake and cheesecake, both of which were the perfect ending to our meal. We also enjoyed dirty martinis to start, and they were mixed just right. One of the highlights of our evening was stepping out into NOMA Square, where the Main Street Friday night event was in full swing. We loved the live music and even danced a bit. Roost has outdoor covered seating with a view of the square, but be sure to reserve in advance if you want to sit outside. We had indoor reservations and were seated promptly. Overall, it was a great meal and a perfect evening. Highly recommend!
Pros: Great food Generous portions Vegan/vegetarian options that are delicious Beautiful view of Downtown Greenville Main Street The Truffle Artichoke Toast is a must-try for our plant-based foodies Hubby didn't have a crumb left of his Smash Burger, so he highly recommends that Vegetarian pasta was tasty as well, but I wouldn't order a second time Cons: Our server, Paul, could use a lesson in customer service. His nonchalant demeanor was a bit of a buzzkill. Every question seemed to be met with a dismissive response. Despite the less-than-stellar service, we left a $30 tip instead of the $20 we intended. (That one's on us, we didn't double-check the total!) You're welcome, Paul. Parking is tricky, so arrive 15+ minutes early if you have a reservation.
Their temporary location is the 2nd floor of a hotel. Food is delicious & large portions are served. Great atmosphere & service.
Wonderful place with great ambiance. We had a large party and everyone enjoyed their food & drinks tonight. I did not LOVE my scallops, because they tasted a little fishy, but the delicious Brussel sprouts & other items made up for them. We also got several appetizers & they did not disappoint. Our favorite was the Artichoke Toast. Our waiter, Paul. Was very attentive & friendly.
We had dinner here before walking to Bon Secours, the service was great and the food was very good too. I was hoping for a larger wine list, but what they have is very good. The booth we sat in wasn't the most comfortable, but I understand, this is a hotel restaurant.
My mom and I came here 2 months ago for a pre-show lunch, and we were not disappointed! I can't remember exactly what it was called, but we had an appetizer of fried cheese nuggets with some dipping sauce that tasted amazing. I had the philly cheesesteak, and oh my god was that cheese sauce heaven! I had a campfire s'more cocktail that was absolute delicious, and my mom had the spicy pineapple margarita which looked amazing as well. I also want to point out that Jasmine was our server, and she was very polite and professional during our time there. Everything was so nice, the food, the service, the atmosphere... well worth the visit!
We recently visited this nice restaurant during the "Dine Out for Mom" event hosted by the Let There Be Mom Organization. We decided to sit outside to enjoy the nice weather and people-watch. For our appetizer, we ordered the cheese curds, and while we got a generous portion, we found a pool of oil at the bottom, which was a bit off-putting. We shared the smash burger as we were already pretty full from the cheese curds. The burger was tasty, but it didn’t quite live up to the true "smash burger" experience. That said, the fries were excellent—crispy and well-seasoned. Overall, it’s a nice spot to grab a bite, especially if you're near Bon Secours Arena or downtown Greenville. I’d definitely consider returning to try other items on the menu.
